Hosting Me

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of all services provided by Hosting Me (“we”, “us”, “our”). By ordering, accessing, or using our services, you (“client”, “customer”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms, including our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and Fair Use Policy (FUP).

Certain aspects of our hosting services are subject to technical limits and policies determined by the underlying infrastructure providers we work with. These limits may include restrictions on storage, resource allocation, or acceptable use. Where multiple policies could apply, the stricter condition will take precedence to ensure the stability and security of the platform.

1. General Use

Services may only be used for lawful purposes. Any use of services for unlawful activity, or activity deemed by us or our upstream providers to present a risk to network stability, security, or reputation, will result in immediate suspension or termination without refund. We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend, or terminate accounts at our discretion.

2. Domain Names

Domains are registered via third-party registrars (e.g. eNom, ResellerClub). Registration is subject to their terms and availability checks.
Domains are non-refundable once registered. Incorrect registrant information may lead to rejection or suspension of the domain, for which we are not liable.
Renewal is the client’s responsibility. We send reminders, but failure to renew may result in suspension and eventual deletion of the domain.
Domains not renewed before expiry generally enter a 30-day grace period (“protected period”). After this, they may be cancelled, deleted, or resold by the registry. Renewal after expiry may incur additional registry fees.

2.1 Free Domain Offer

Some hosting plans may include a free domain (e.g. .co.uk). The domain remains free for as long as the associated hosting plan is active. If the plan is cancelled within six months, we may charge you for the domain registration costs. If you upgrade to a premium TLD (e.g. .com), the additional cost is chargeable.

3. Hosting Services

Hosting accounts are intended for the operation of websites and associated services only. They may not be used as general file storage, backup repositories, media streaming platforms, or for distribution of large files.

3.1 Disk Space & Bandwidth

Shared and reseller hosting plans may be advertised as “unlimited” but are subject to our Fair Use Policy.
Bandwidth is unmetered provided use is normal for website hosting and does not adversely affect other users or server stability.

3.2 VPS Services

VPS hosting provided through Katapult is subject to Katapult’s platform terms and acceptable use rules. Resources are allocated on a fair-share basis. Abusive resource consumption, attacks, or prohibited uses may result in suspension.

4. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

The following activities are strictly prohibited across all services:

Spamming, unsolicited bulk email, or maintaining open mail relays.
Hosting adult content, pornography, or obscene materials.
Hosting or distributing malware, phishing sites, or fraudulent content.
Audio/video streaming services (unless explicitly authorised).
Storing large archives, backups, or files unrelated to website hosting.
Use of hosting space for free hosting services or reselling without a reseller plan.
Denial-of-Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks, port scanning, or security testing without permission.
Any activity that may damage, disable, or disrupt servers, networks, or other customers.

4.1 Misuse of Services

Account Security & Responsibility: You are responsible for acts of unauthorised access where such access is gained via your account or Authorised Users.
Legal Compliance: You must comply with all applicable laws when using the Services.
No Security Testing Without Consent: Security testing of the Services or related infrastructure is prohibited without written consent.
Prohibited Content & Conduct: You may not use the Services to create, store, or distribute unlawful, harmful, obscene, or offensive content.
Immediate Suspension: Non-compliance may result in suspension without notice until remedied.
Removal of Offending Data: We may disable or delete any Customer Data that breaches these Terms or applicable law.
Third-Party Software: You are responsible for third-party software included in your Customer Data.
Indemnity: You indemnify Hosting Me from any claims, damages, or losses arising from misuse.

5. Fair Use Policy (FUP)

Maximum storage per shared hosting account: 10 GB.
Hosting space must be used primarily for active website files and databases.
Excessive inode counts, email storage, or resource abuse may trigger restrictions or require an upgrade.

6. Billing & Payment

Invoices are issued monthly or annually depending on the plan.
Payments are handled by third-party providers (Stripe, PayPal). We do not store card details.
Failure to pay on time may result in suspension and termination.
Late payments: Accounts unpaid 5 days after due date may be suspended; after 7 days of suspension, terminated with data deletion.
Fraudulent or unauthorised payment use may be reported to authorities.

7. Money Back Guarantee & Refunds

Shared hosting includes a 30-day money-back guarantee.
No refunds for domains, SSLs, VPS, or accounts terminated for policy violations.
Some add-on services may have shorter refund windows (5–30 days).
Free domains will be deducted at cost price if cancelling early.

8. Liability & Backups

Hosting Me disclaims liability for business loss, revenue, or data due to downtime, suspension, or termination. While backups are taken, they are not guaranteed. Clients must maintain their own backups.

9. Service Uptime

We aim to provide 99.9% uptime, measured annually. Scheduled maintenance may affect availability; advance notice will be provided when possible.

10. Account Activation

Accounts are activated once payment is received and Terms accepted.

11. Service Changes

We may amend these Terms, AUP, or FUP at any time. Updates will be posted on our website and take effect immediately. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
